So you went to google and typed in "When Does the Time Zone Change?" Well you probably meant when does the time change, or when do I change my clocks, but it is a fair question. One time zone change is equivalent to setting your clocks back an hour or forward an hour. Anyway, here is when to change your clocks. In the fall, you move the clock BACK one hour. In the spring, you go forward an hour (hence, losing an hour of sleep - or getting up an hour earlier). I'll give the dates for the next few years, as I don't know when you asked this question: Here are the dates for when the clocks change in the United States (note Europe is on a slightly different schedule, see below):
In the USA: The non-United States time zone changing schedule: And in Europe: So in the Fall, you get an extra hour of sleep, so this is somewhat equivalent to going west one time zone. In the Spring, you lose an hour of sleep, so this is somewhat equivalent to travelling east by one time zone. And thus, we have established the equivalency of time zones and daylight savings time. The fall is actually one of the best times to learn about electromagnetics, particularly Maxwell's Equations, which is the complete guiding equations behind Electric and Magnetic Fields.
